Time to Re-Enroll!
Our re-enrollment period for the 2022-23 school year officially kicked off on November 1! Returning students will not be automatically enrolled and applications should be submitted early to ensure a seat.

Jubilee-Wells Branch welcomes our new Regional Recruitment Coordinator, Mr. Jerry Gee-Cordova to the team! He joins us from the classroom after teaching at the elementary, middle and high school level in both the public and private sectors. Please contact Mr. Gee-Cordova if you have any friends or family who might be interested in joining the JWB family!
Recipes From Child Nutrition
Sweet Potato Salad
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp honey
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 cup olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
3 large sweet potatoes (3 cups), peeled and cubed
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 avocado, cut into chunks
2 cups baby spinach, chopped
1/2 cup dried cranberries
2 tbsp pepitas
1/2 cup feta cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400F
On baking sheet, toss sweet potatoes and onion in olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Bake sweet potatoes for 30mins. Flip sweet potatoes half-way through bake.
Once finished, allow sweet potatoes to cool.
While the sweet potatoes are cooking, add the chopped spinach, avocado, cranberries, pepitas, and feta cheese into a large bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, honey, cumin, and paprika. Slowly add in olive oil, stirring continuously. Set dressing aside.
Add the cooked sweet potatoes to the large bowl and top with dressing.
Toss all ingredients together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve as a side dish, on a bed of lettuce, or in a wrap.

Honoring Our Veterans Across the District
Many campuses across the district honored our Veterans by creating a Wall of Heroes. Students were invited to bring in photos of their loved ones who have served for everyone to see. Pictured above is the wall at Jubilee-Kingsville. Again, we want to take a moment to thank all that have served and are still serving!
JHH ACCESS Helping Our Community
7th and 8th grade ACCESS students at Jubilee-Highland Hills helped fill bags with essentials which will be given to those facing tough times as the weather changes. Thanks to Mrs. Sandra Guerra and her cycling team for making the connection and distributing these bags this upcoming Sunday!

CTE News
SA Charter Moms Visit JSA Campus
San Antonio Charter Moms took a tour of the Jubilee-San Antonio campus to get a feel for the new CTE offerings available to students. Coming this December, parents will be able to receive application help and learn about all of Jubilee’s programs via their Parent Guide available in English and Spanish!
Determined Destiny Values
Congratulations to the Jubilee-Kingsville spirit stick winners, of the Integrity and Empowerment Houses! The classes received points based on attendance, homework, and displaying conduct consistent with the DDV.
Extra-Curricular Opportunities

Student Council has been working hard on proposals to provide opportunities for students. Last month, they presented about a potential talent show and this month, about a book club. We are proud to say that both have been approved! Great work Knights!
Jubilee-Harlingen
We welcomed Behavioral Health Solutions last week for a family rock painting event. The ACCESS After School families had a blast creating memories and taking their decorated rocks home.
A Look into the Classroom
Jubilee-San Antonio
Mr. Chapa’s 8th grade STEM class dissected sheep brains in order to label and identify parts and functions. Project Lead The Way has given us this learning opportunity and our students were excited to explore this organ and its function.
Mrs. Arias’ art student is creating a beautiful piece which will be submitted to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Art Contest. Good Luck!!
Jubilee-Highland Park
During Red Ribbon Week, students spent time with our local first responders discussing crime fighting and fire safety. Thank you to SAPD SAFFE officers, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Station #4!
Jubilee Wells-Branch
As part of our November family project, PreK students created a feather with their family to describe the things they are thankful for. All together, the feathers create our PreK Thankful Turkey!
Athletics
Jubilee-San Antonio Football
Our JSA football team pulled off a HUGE victory against the nine-time state champions. Our boys fought hard, the coaches coached well, and we were victorious in the end, 64-54. Next stop, State Semi-finals!
Additionally, we would like to congratulate Francisco Calderon, Jordan Winrow, Isack Aranda who were selected for the 1st all conference and have been invited to play in the all star game at college station in December!

Running Club
The Warrior Running Club has been very active in local community events including Milo’s Run, which helps with a local cancer fighter’s battle, and the Monster Dash Run. Keep up the great work!

The Lady Warriors proudly honored our Veterans during the Brownsville Veteran’s Day Parade!

Congratulations to Mrs. Maria Ramirez, who teaches 1st grade at Jubilee-Livingway! She is pictured with her class.
