Jubilee-Kingsville Student Poetry

At the Jubilee-Kingsville Gear Up Kick-off event, guest speaker, Joaquin Zihuatanejo invited the audience to write a poem. All the students did a phenomenal job! Below are a few poems our students wrote in the spur of the moment-

I am the moon
The moon that shines within darkness
To create light to see in the dark
And save them from suffering within desolation
I show them that my light will help those continue to walk forward
I create the light for them to see their path
As I the moon, Shine down to the dark

I am a loyal flower about to bloom
I love nature. It is a part of me
I am loyal as a Hogwarts student.
I'm as smart as a scientist.
I'm as beautiful as a princess.
And as playful as a mermaid.

Luna Zuniga - 3rd Grade

I am a rainbow because I am colorful
I give happiness and Joy as I grow
There is hope my parents see in my pot of gold at the end of me.

Jasmin Revilla - 3rd Grade

Everyone will adore me.
Loving everybody is great.
A world with love is better than hate.
You are beautiful like the moon.
None is prettier than Ms. Mendiola.
Elayne is also smartest in the class.

Elayne Martinez - 3rd Grade

I look up to Selena because she made it feel like
I could do anything I want to do in my life
I want to be a dancer
I want to be a singer
And she said if you have a dream do not let anyone
take it away. My dreams came true because she was my star.

Jordyn Guartuche - 3rd Grade

They bite with there teeth
They have 8 legs
They crawl on the walls
and floors. They don't fly.
They don't bite often.
only if your give it a scare.
Because if you see it EVERYWHERE!
They carry A LOT of babys.
always hard to kill, like to be outside. Bet it's a SPIDER!
