Jubilee Brownsville Presents “Meet the Authors”
On Thursday, February 1st, the Jubilee Brownsville Texas ACE Afterschool Program students unveiled copies of their much-anticipated published books. It was a very emotional evening for Mrs. Martha Davila, Jubilee Brownsville Texas ACE Coordinator, as she addressed the parents of her young and talented students.
What started as a thought turned into a vision with the collaboration of her colleagues. She never thought it could be a reality, but it was! She beamed with pride and emotion as she unveiled the book to those in attendance.
Her afterschool staff did an amazing job guiding and leading our authors -- students -- through the process. "As soon as the plan was in place, the students took off on their own," says Mrs. Davila. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Studentreasures Publishing for the opportunity afforded to us.
Most importantly, "The Heart of Titan" book is dedicated to our CEO, Mr. Thomas Koger, who, through his vision of our Determined Destiny Values, led and inspired our students to write this book.
Mrs. Davila is very grateful for the opportunity to positively impact her community and would like to thank Mrs. Yesenia Gonzalez, District Director of the Texas ACE Afterschool Program at Jubilee Academies, for entrusting and believing in her.
