On Tuesday, April 27, 2021  U.S. News & World Report (USNWR) released its annual Best U.S. High Schools list, ranking Jubilee-Brownsville 362nd in Texas High Schools and 489th in Charter High Schools.

According to the USNWR, the 2021 Best High Schools rankings take a more complete approach to evaluating schools, looking at five indicators: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rates.  Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college. The new methodology assigns weights to the six factors and then produces an overall score on which the ranking is based.

“Being named a 2021 BEST HIGH SCHOOL in the National and Charter School divisions of US News & World Reports is a true testament of the hard work and dedication from not only our incredible campus teachers and staff, but most importantly our students and parents. The challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic tested the way we delivered instruction and our team stepped up and pivoted from their normal practices to offer outstanding lessons. Their tenacity and grit showcases the creativity and ingenuity that comes from our amazing instructors. I am proud to lead such an amazing team and I am honored to receive the award on their behalf….they inspire minds and develop the next generation's leaders!” -Mr. Carlos Moreno, Jubilee-Brownsville Principal
