Determined to Succeed - Lesson
Being determined to succeed is an important skill we develop to help us lead ourselves. Follow the directions for this section.
Read aloud or have your student read the following:
Character sustains success and so we must be determined to live a life of integrity. In a word, determination is about grit. The dictionary defines grit as “courage and resolve; strength of character. This definition of grit ties determination to character. Be determined!
We cannot have success in life without character. This is not to say that someone without character could not have money and “things.” The truth is, a person without character lives in a material world. Many times this is at the expense of relationships. There is more to life than just material things, such as rich relationships.
Discuss with your parent the value of relationships.
