Recap: Jubilee Joy Fest and 5K Run/Walk

The Jubilee Academic Foundation, hosted its first annual Jubilee Joy Fest and 5K Run/Walk at the close of last month on Saturday, September 30. The foundation was able to raise funds in support of student scholarships and campus developments. Amongst the estimated 500 guests were Texas Representative Elizabeth "Liz" Campos and a spokesperson from District 3 Phyllis Viagran's office. The event brought the local San Antonio community together to celebrate health and education.

Student involvement was at a peak for the event. Much of the digital designing for the event, including the logo, was done by a Jubilee San Antonio senior! Other campuses, including Jubilee Wells Branch from Austin, Texas, represented in the various student performances and runner participation.

Although this was the first major event hosted by the foundation, Chairman Debbie Rodriguez considers it an honor "to be associated with such a warm, family-like community." Sponsors for the event included Specialized Public Finance, Schumann, Lopez, Hoffer & Adelstein, LLP, Las Palapas, Documation, and Walmart!
